Next Steps: Service Mapping, Laptops and Certificates
On this page
In this lesson, you will learn:
- How to propose next steps
- SNWR’s phase 2 ideas
- How each builds on Discovery
π Quick look back: Last time: Showing the Value and Closing the Project. You learned how Clear View’s value was reported and the project closed.
1 The Problem: Good Data Raises New Questions
Now that the CMDB is trusted, people ask for more:
- Arjun wants a map of SNWR Email.
- IT wants laptops in the CMDB.
- Farah wants to see certificates before they expire.
π The fix: Propose a clear phase 2, built on what Clear View delivered.

2 Proposing next steps
- Tie each idea to a real SNWR need.
- Show what it builds on.
- Check entitlements: some ideas need other products.
- Give a rough size.
3 How they build on Clear View
Service Mapping uses discovered CIs. Laptop data goes through the same IRE rules. Certificate Inventory uses the same MID Servers.
4 Project Clear View: How We Implemented It
π Situation: Anita asked what’s next.
π§ Decision: Propose four ideas, tied to real needs.
π οΈ Steps we took:
- Listed requests from Arjun, IT and Farah.
- Linked each to what Clear View built.
- Checked which are in ITOM Advanced.
- Presented them at closure.
β What we verified:
- Anita picked Certificate Inventory first.
- Service Mapping for SNWR Email is next.
π Evidence: The phase 2 proposal, attached to the closure report.
5 Quick recap
- Good data leads to new requests.
- Tie each idea to a real need.
- Show what it builds on and check entitlements.
- Clear View’s phase 2: Service Mapping, laptops, certificates, Kubernetes.
6 Check yourself
