Deciding Whether the Project Is Ready to Expand
On this page
In this lesson, you will learn:
- What to show in the pilot review
- How to decide to expand
- What gate 4 needs
π Quick look back: Last time: Comparing the Pilot with the Client’s Known Inventory. You learned how the pilot compared with SNWR’s spreadsheet.
1 The Problem: Expanding Too Early Multiplies Problems
The pilot had three failures in 30 servers. At full scale, that could be 20 or more failures a night. If you expand now:
- Failures pile up.
- The team spends days sorting them.
π The fix: Review the pilot, fix known causes, and expand only with the client’s agreement.

2 What to show
- Results against expectations.
- Every failure with cause, fix and owner.
- The comparison with the client’s list.
- Your recommendation.
3 Deciding
Expand when failures are understood and fixes are planned. Not every fix must be done first, but every cause must be known.
β Remember: Gate 4 is Hana’s decision, based on your evidence.
4 Project Clear View: How We Implemented It
π Situation: The pilot and comparison were complete.
π§ Decision: Present the results and ask Hana to decide.
π οΈ Steps we took:
- Showed 27 of 30 complete.
- Explained each failure with fix and owner.
- Recommended expanding after Priya’s fixes.
- Hana agreed and signed gate 4.
β What we verified:
- Every failure has a cause, fix and owner.
- Gate 4 is signed.
π Evidence: The signed pilot review (gate 4).
5 Quick recap
- Review results, failures, comparison and your recommendation.
- Every failure needs a cause, fix and owner.
- Expand when causes are understood.
- Gate 4 is the client’s decision.
6 Check yourself
Think of your answer first. Then tap to check.
1 Why not expand straight after the pilot? Show answer
Unfixed causes would multiply at full scale.
2 What must be true before expanding? Show answer
Every failure’s cause is known and fixes are planned.
3 Who signed gate 4? Show answer
Hana Kim.
Nice work! Clear View is ready to expand. π
