ACC Prerequisites and Deployment Planning
On this page
In this lesson, you will learn:
- ACC prerequisites
- How to plan the rollout
- SNWR’s Finance plan
π Quick look back: Last time: When to Choose ACC Instead of Agentless Discovery. You learned when to choose ACC over agentless, and its limits.
1 The Problem: Agents Touch Every Target Server
Unlike scans, agents are installed on each server. For Finance, that means:
- Priya’s team installs software on six sensitive servers.
- Security must approve the agent itself.
π The fix: Prepare packages, rules and approvals, then roll out in small steps.

2 Prerequisites
- Install packages for the host OS.
- The MID Server set up to accept agents.
- A firewall rule for the agent’s outbound connection.
- Security approval.
- A rollout plan with the server team.
3 Rolling out
- Install on one server.
- Check it connects and sends data.
- Install on the rest in a change window.
- Check each one.
4 Project Clear View: How We Implemented It
π Situation: ACC for Finance was approved.
π§ Decision: Prepare everything and plan a one-then-five rollout with Priya.
π οΈ Steps we took:
- Downloaded the Windows agent package from snwr.
- Ravi opened the outbound rule to the Mumbai MID cluster.
- Set up the MID cluster to accept agents.
- Planned snwr-fin-01 first, then the other five.
β What we verified:
- All prerequisites are green.
- The rollout is booked in a change window.
π Evidence: ACC prerequisites in the tracker.
5 Quick recap
- Agents need packages, MID setup, a firewall rule and approval.
- Plan with the server team.
- Install on one server first.
- Check each server after install.
6 Check yourself
Think of your answer first. Then tap to check.
